| Editor's note It's been a big week in Australian news. Late last week, word came that Stephen Conroy was finally abandoning the idea for the clean-feed internet filter, and would instead force the ISPs to use Interpol's "worst-of" filter. That filter was already in place for Telstra and Optus customers. Then, on Tuesday, the worst-kept secret in network circles was announced, as Amazon confirmed that it is creating an AWS node in Sydney. Much of the pricing is comparable to Singaporean pricing, and reportedly the latency is amazing to use. I just wouldn't upload several terabytes of storage onto Amazon's S3 service located in Sydney, as the costs would escalate rather quickly.
